Benefits

Low Carbon

With advances in wind turbine technology the project is able to deliver substantial environmental benefits by offsetting CO2 emitted by electricity produced from fossil fuels.

Low Cost

Onshore wind energy is now the cheapest form of new power generation in the UK, and consequently can contribute to controlling consumers energy bills into the future.

Community Benefit

In line with industry best-practice, a community benefit fund of £5,000 per MW continues to be offered for the lifespan of the wind farm (once operational) for environmental and community projects or initiatives. We are particularly inviting thoughts and comments from the local community as to how this can best be put to good use.

Security of Supply

The wind is a stable renewable resource, not subject to the vagaries of international geopolitics of supply.

Community Shared Ownership

The Government recently asked the renewables industry to consider offering shared ownership of onshore wind projects to communities. We would like to find out whether there is interest in principle in this option for Dell Wind Farm. If this is of interest to you, please do get in touch with us.

Your Thoughts

We would very much welcome any comments you may have about the proposals. You can do so by emailing us at info@dellwindfarm.co.uk.
